CES 2016 and Connect IQ 1.2.2

01/06/16 @ 10:51 AM

All of us here on the Connect IQ team are ecstatic for 2016. We're eager to share with you what we've been working on the last several months, so let's get right to it!

New Year, New SDK

Edge and Fenix 3 IQ Logo

Today we're launching version 1.2.2 of the Connect IQ SDK. This SDK has multiple key updates, including the following:

  • Edge data fields can now be uploaded to the store.
  • fēnix 3 HR and tactix Bravo devices are now supported in the Connect IQ SDK.
  • There's a new screen size called “Tall Watch” for you to explore. (Sounds fun, right?)

Over the next couple of months, our new products will be in the hands of our customers worldwide, and this SDK update lets your apps be part of it all.

Devices Tailored to Your Lifestyle

When we launched the first 4 Connect IQ devices last year at CES, we were just starting to establish the benefits of purpose-built smartwatches. Today, it's clear to see why each of our new wearables is designed with a purpose in mind — to be the right device for your active lifestyle, when and where you need it.

We now have 10 Connect IQ-compatible wearables, and 3 Connect IQ-compatible bike computers (coming soon).

New Product Announcements

This week at CES, we're introducing fēnix 3 HR with Elevate™ wrist heart rate technology. And we're expanding our popular fēnix 3 Sapphire line with 2 new styles. And speaking of fēnix 3, the entire line is getting an updated suite of native applications, including golf and paddle sports.

We've significantly grown the Forerunner family with the launch of the Forerunner 230, 235 and 630 in November 2015. We now have more than 1 million Connect IQ-enabled watches on people's wrists! And with the launch of Garmin Connect™ for Windows Phone in December 2015, we're able to reach even more customers who can't wait to add life and style to their wearables with the apps you're creating.

If you're at CES, stop at our booth (#35811). We'd love to meet you and hear about the apps you're designing, your new year's resolutions, and how you're going to "Beat Yesterday." See you there!
