A Look Back at CES 2015

01/16/15 @ 04:43 PM

Now that the dust has settled a little bit since CES we wanted to share some of the exciting coverage we got around the new Connect IQ compatible products and the Connect IQ platform.

Time - “The Coolest Smartwatches Being Shown at CES”

Mashable’s Best of CES Nominee— “The sleek design epitomizes a sturdy, high-end timepiece”

Mashable - “Everything this extreme Garmin fitness watch can do will stress you out”

Engadget - “Credit where it’s due: Garmin has managed to basically reinvent itself. Once the king of in-car GPS navigation, the company is now equally known for its sports watches and fitnesstrackers. Indeed, with the exception of a few low-end navigators no one cares about, Garmin is pretty much only showing wearable devices here at CES. In brief, this year’s lineup runs the gamut, with prices starting at $250 and going all the way up to $600. Still, they all have this in common: They’re equal parts smartwatch and fitness tracker.”

Yahoo - “Garmin’s new smartwatches blend the boardroom and the outdoors”

The Verge - On Connect IQ: “The Fenix could become a test for how much the platform matters in the wearables business because Garmin has opted out of the Android Wear arms race, the same way Pebble has done thus far. Granted, Pebble has a healthy head start in building an app ecosystem, but Garmin might be able to secure a sportier audience — users who want a rugged, ultra-fitness-savvy device first, smartwatch second.”

TechCrunch - “Garmin’s Fenix 3 Sports Watch Just Might Look Good with a Suit”

DCRainMaker - Garmin Connect IQ: An in-depth introduction to the platform you can now use today

Wall Street Journal - “Garmin puts GPS navigation on the wrist”

All in all it was a great week and we appreciated everybody that was at the event and had a chance to stop by.

It has been great to see the new watch face designs and data fields being created from the community.  Keep up the great work and we look forward to seeing what’s next.  Check out apps.garmin.com to see what is already there.

How about some Garmin eye candy!!
