I used the Read and Map Waypoint DeviceDisplay Demo (see URL below), and it did work a week ago with the Garmin Communicator version prior to 2.3.1.0.

However since v. 2.3.1.0 it returns an error message: "this.uploadXmlString has no properties" after downloading the data from my Etrex.

Not sure if it is because of the data that accumulated in my Etrex, or because of the new communicator plugin.

Any help appreciated.
Martien

I'm experiencing the same problem. I'm using version 2.3.2.0 of the plug-in, and I'm trying to use the same demo to transfer tracks and waypoints from my Quest to my Mac.

I get the same error using my GPSmap 60CSx in OS X Leopard 10.5.1 and Garmin Communicator Plug-in Version 2.3.2.0 — from file “GarminGpsControl.plugin”.

The main Garmin Communicator page offers an Upgrade for Windows, but not for OS X "yet".

I've tried clearing all the data that the GPS itself lets me clear. Then I also added back a couple way points with the "Mark" button. And I tried adding another waypoint far from here using the "Mark" button and manually editing the coordinates and created a Route to it. Every case fails.

I've installed the plugin in Windows XP (under Parallels on my Mac) and Internet Explorer reports "[object Error]" so it doesn't work in Windows either.

FireFox in XP gives the exact same error string as FireFox and Safari on OS X.

P. S. There is a lower level test that shows the GPX file it reads and allows you to view the waypoints on google maps which works fine in FireFox on Windows and OS X:

Following up on the last reply, this website presents the low-level interface in a more eye-candy fashion:

Has anyone found a solution yet?

I've started using DeviceControl instead, and I'm happy with that, except for a nice way to install the plug-in. I've started another thread for that subject.

Daryl.
