I only use Linux (Ubuntu) at home. Linux is a valid platform and really should be support. You will get far more back than you put in!

Adding my voice to the throng looking for Linux support. I ditched Windows Vista last year in favour of the stability and performance of Ubuntu and never looked back.

Just got a Nuvi 550 to use on the road and on a small motor boat (which means buying the marine charts too). Linux support would make life a lot easier for a lot of people.

And I'd second the "influencer" argument someone posted above... it's about more than just numbers using linux... it's about the broader influence they have with a large network of their peers.

And as the other poster pointed out, when it comes to tech gadgets, the person with all the influence is much more likely to be a linux user.

Okay... off to fire up my Windows VM and check for updates for my Nuvi. Painful, but necessary, at least for now!

I'm online researching a replacement/upgrade for my eTrex Venture which has served me well for Geocaching. Seeing a thread like this is not encouraging me to stay with Garmin. All these people on here taking the time to comment and request for Linux, I'm a Linux user too. Glad I read through this page BEFORE making my decision to buy - there's your business case, go figure!
