Robert,

I haven't been able to test the c330 myself, but I'll get back to you on that. In the meanwhile, please make sure you're selecting to read GPX and not TCX from the device.

Geoff,

Sending users to the Garmin site is currently the only way to have them get the plugin. A browser restart is also required in order for the browser to recognize the newly installed plugin.

We are developing an ecommerce site that will use the Garmin Communicator API… Is there a way to embed the browser plugin dll/ocx in a webpage instead of sending them away to get it? As I see it now, if the user needs the plugin, I have to make them bounce out (via link) to the Garmin site, follow the download /install process (close all browsers – including my site), they then have to revisit our site, re-navigate to where they left off, etc. If there is no way to embed it, please let me know of any more elegant method that I may not be aware of.

I received a Garmin C330 for Christmas and I am very impressed with it. Being a programmer, I immediately headed over to this site to see what I could do with it besides navigate with it. I found this communicator plug-in. It installs and passes self-test correctly but it fails to read any data from the unit staying at 0%. There is communication taking place because the garminDeviceControlDemo.html demo is able to download my units version and other information. Is there something I have not set correctly to get the plug-in to fully interact with my C330 or is just not supported?

oups just saw your message: Mac Leopard users should also notice a drastic improvement in read transfer rate with this release. An API release is coming up soon.
