As I see it now, if the user needs the plugin, I have to make them bounce out (via link) to the Garmin site, follow the download /install process (close all browsers – including my site), they then have to revisit our site, re-navigate to where they left off, etc. If there is no way to embed it, please let me know of any more elegant method that I may not be aware of. Being a programmer, I immediately headed over to this site to see what I could do with it besides navigate with it. I found this communicator plug-in. It installs and passes self-test correctly but it fails to read any data from the unit staying at 0%. There is communication taking place because the garminDeviceControlDemo.html demo is able to download my units version and other information.
